OG-ColorBox The AJA OG-ColorBox is a high-performance openGear color management card, specifically designed to meet the color conversion and correction needs of broadcast, live events, and on-set applications. Compatible with HDR, SDR, and Wide Color Gamut (WCG) signals, it utilizes 12G-SDI for 4K/UltraHD over a single cable up to 4:2:2 10-bit 60p or 4:4:4 12-bit 30p, with a unique color processing workflow and down-conversion capabilities. The OG-ColorBox's ultra-low latency, less than half a video line, makes it ideal for color management workflows in live productions.
Built around a 33-point 3D LUT processor with tetrahedral interpolation, AJA's Color Pipeline also offers four 1D LUTs and two 3x3 matrices, each individually configurable or convertible into Proc Amps or RGB Color Correctors. All color processing options can be easily managed via the web interface, accessible directly through a wired Ethernet connection.
OG-ColorBox also includes processing pipelines based on NBCU and ACES LUTs. Additionally, OG-ColorBox offers licensable upgrade options for advanced color management workflows, including the Colorfront Engine, BBC HLG LUTs, and ORION-CONVERT. ORION-CONVERT's unique approach, which uses real-time floating-point calculations for color transformations, produces more accurate results, allowing you to "access the colors between colors." This enables pixel-precise color transformations and round-tripping, where maintaining color fidelity is paramount.
The ACES pipeline includes support for the ACES Metadata File (AMF). Internal AMF processing is based on OpenColorIO (OCIO) from the Academy Software Foundation and supports configurable input/output transformations. The OG-ColorBox is an officially certified device bearing the ACES logo, ensuring end-to-end ACES compliance.
OG-ColorBox can overlay information on the image, including user-defined text fields, user-uploaded images as graphic elements, box lines, and more.
OG-ColorBox also offers a sophisticated 4K proofing pattern generator and frame store, providing useful tools for your workflow, including capturing up to a 4K image as a 16-bit .tiff file for high-quality references. These captures can be saved locally on OG-ColorBox or on connected external computers, which can simultaneously run applications such as Pomfort's Livegrade Pro/Studio, Assimilate Live Looks, and QTAKE Video Assist.
